I always begin with gratitude, because honestly, thank you so much for taking the time out of your life to create something I’ve asked for. Truly. You are fantastic for accepting this challenge.
I hope that my suggestions lead to some inspiration, but if there’s another story or idea which is begging for it to be written by you, please feel free to give in to that impulse. These aren’t fandoms I’ve read much in and I would love to just jump into them however you want to take me there.
A little bit about me, to hopefully help you out a little: I really enjoy looking at the relationships between friends and how those bonds can become romantic at a moment's notice. I am a fan of snark and earnestness and people making out. I am also a fan of that making out evolving into sex, and wow, oral sex? What an awesome thing. I love found families and people being there for each other. Is my favorite thing when people have a history together and they just know one another because of all that time and shared experiences? Probably. I like little touches and meaningful glances and when you’re so happy it feels like your chest is just going to burst.
I do not want major character death, non-con, or rape this year. Things are heavy enough right now. If there is going to be angst, I’m going to need some levity to balance that all out.
Requests this year are for Kevin Can F*ck Himself, Broad City, Sleeping with Other People, Palm Springs and Ted Lasso.
Kevin Can F*ck Himself- Allison McRoberts, Patty O'Connor, Sam Park (Kevin Can Fuck Himself), Kevin McRoberts
I would love to get a gen fic for this fandom, one of my favorite new shows of the year. I am so curious about how Allison came to meet all these people and what the version of her was like before she was Kevin’s wife and looking for a way out. Exploring high school or young adult Allison, maybe through meeting any (or all) of the requested characters would be amazing.
Broad City- Abbi Abrams, Trey Pucker
Why does this pairing get me so tremendously? I WISH I KNEW! But Trey’s earnestness and the way that I think he genuinely felt Abby was someone great is important to me. I would love any unseen moments from the brief period of time when they were together.
Sleeping with Other People- Jake (Sleeping With Other People), Elaine "Lainey" Dalton
Remember earlier in my letter when I mentioned that I love when people have a history together? THE HISTORY THAT THESE TWO SHARE, I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT. I would be happy for fic of them when they were still just friends, hanging out and mouse trapping all over the place, but would also love fic for after they get married at the end of the film. Maybe a trip they took together or celebrating one of their birthdays?
Palm Springs- Nyles (Palm Springs), Sarah Wilder
This is a prompt I am reusing from last year, but hey, I guess I can do that. Maybe there’s a period of time where Nyles and Sarah get very invested in trying to beat Guinness World Records, you know, for something to do. And if they die in pursuit, well, so be it. They'll just try again tomorrow.
Ted Lasso- Flo "Sassy" Collins, Ted Lasso
I am so curious as to what these two got up to after the funeral, but also literally anything about them. Did they have any conversation after their time in the hotel room? And what about that? How did that whole scenario go down in the moment? Please of course include Rebecca (or any other characters!) as feels appropriate.
